The last two weeks I have been on a mission. Each week on ESPN’s Page 2 one of their contributors has a column where he gives teams or people nicknames or new nicknames. For two weeks I have submitted my entries and for two weeks I have made honorable mention.
If you scroll all the way to the bottom I am Ben M. Peoria Ill. Now my first suggestion for the New LeBron nickname wasn’t my strongest effort but I thought this week was a lock! I am going to keep trying and I will keep you posted but my goal is to make the top 10! Let’s see if I can make it happen.
It was brought to our attention that we have not give out as much love as we have hate. Now this to me is completely false. We have given much love to many different athletes. We love any comments that we receive, from you the reader, with that in mind I decided to share some of the things that we love here at SOGJ:
Any time Albert Pujols talks(personal favorite:”Los Jankees”)
A great Adrian Peterson run
A pitcher recieving the ball from the umpire after a homerun
The Batting Stance Guy(This is a YouTube must)
Bill Belichick giving a post game interview
Wiffle ball(yearly tradition, great game)
Major League 1 and 2(Wesley Snipes much better than Omar Epps as Willie Mays Hayes)
Anything Canadian
John Daly and his movie counterpart Roy McAvoy(Tin Cup)
We here at SOGJ have quite a few wishes for some 2010 sports moments for Santa to put under our tree.
We then became curious about what our loyal readers want under their ‘Sports Christmas Tree.’
So here’s the deal:
Think of the three sports moments that you would most like to see happen during the 2010 sports calendar. They can be real, funny, or crazy, off-the-wall ideas (ie: Cubs World Series win).
Then e-mail us your sports Christmas wishes at: screamsofgusjohnson@yahoo.com
We’ll then pick our favorite wishes and the most frequently asked for moments along with the SOGJ staff wishes and they will be included in our special Christmas edition post.
So get after it! We want to hear some awesome ideas and we want to laugh our collective asses off. (ie: Once again, Cubs World Series title)
Once again, the e-mail address is: screamsofgusjohnson@yahoo.com

Our goal is to have as much interaction with our readers as possible. We encourage you, the sports fan, to speak up! Leave comments on our posts, shoot us tweets (@ScreamsofGus)or e-mail us (screamsofgusjohnson@yahoo.com). We are always looking for new story ideas or ways to enhance your experience on the site, so let us know where we can improve!
Thanks for an awesome first week and continue spreading the word about ‘Screams of Gus Johnson!’ We really appreciate it!
Hello world. Our mission is create a sports blog using sarcasm, humor, and knowledge. We have been inspired by the likes of Gus Johnson(obviously), Bill Simmons, horrible local sports radio, PTI, and the overall ignorance of Skip Bayliss. We do not contend that we know everything or that we are always right(but come on, doubt us) but we will give our opinions on all sports and pretty much any topic relating to sports.
If you enjoy what you read remember sharing is caring so share us with anyone with a pulse.
RISE AND FIRE
