Bradley vs. Western Carolina Preview

Monday night the Bradley Men’s basketball team return after hitting the jackpot in Las Vegas with the shocking win over Illinois. Following the Illinois victory Bradley defeated another in state rival The Northern Illinois Huskies(Todd Peterson Alma mater) in a very ugly game on the road in DeKalb. Taylor Brown had another good game leading the Braves with 15 points.

The 5-2 Braves have really only played one complete game this year and that was the victory over Illinois. Did I mention that they beat the University of Illinois 72-68? Just checking.

Bradley returns to Carver Arena where they will face the 6-1 Western Carolina Catamounts(That sounds dirty. I’m just saying, think about it. You did… I know….dirty) The Catamounts are a very balanced team and they are the defending co -champions of the Southern Conferences Northern Division.(huh?) In seven games they have had 6 different leading scorers. 6-6 swing man Brandon Giles has led the team in scoring twice and is part of the schools 1000 point club.

Bradley and Western Carolina have a common opponent in Wofford who both schools defeated. Western Carolina’s lone loss came at the hands of the Texas Longhorns who won 71-44 (ouch). I believe Colt McCoy got in this game. The leading scorer in that game for the Catamounts (still sounds dirty) was Harouna Mutombo (I am still checking for any relation, oh Dikembe)

Bradley will need to shoot the ball better than they have been to come away with a victory. This will be a rough road game for the Catamounts who opened their conference season Saturday night with a victory over Furman. Bradley will need to limit the capable Catamount(its dirty cause it has the word mount get it mount) scorers, and have good games from Taylor Brown, Andrew Warren, and Sam Maniscalco. I expect Will Egolf to play well.

Prediction Bradley -70  Catamounts(haha)-57
