UFC Hands Walking Papers to Houston Alexander

'The Assassin' spent most of his fight against Kimbo dancing in circles.

According to MMAJunkie.com, UFC President Dana White has announced that Houston ‘The Assassin’ Alexander has been cut from the fighting organization.

Alexander’s last fight in the UFC was a loss in a unanimous decision to Ultimate Fighter 10 competitor and Internet sensation Kevin ‘Kimbo Slice’ Ferguson on Dec. 5.

If you watched that fight, you know exactly why Dana White gave Alexander the axe. The fight was supposed to be the highlight of the under-card and received a lot of pre-fight hype.

‘The Assassin’ then spent a majority of the first two rounds boring the Vegas crowd and throwing weak sauce leg slaps at Kimbo while circling the octagon. Whenever Slice would attempt to push some action Alexander would flee.

It was obvious that Alexander was afraid to mix it up with a leaner and meaner Kimbo Slice and his heavy hands. (Was it just me or did Kimbo look a lot quicker than we’ve seen him in the past also?)

Every fighter in the UFC knows what Dana White is all about: make your fight entertaining, no excuses. Houston Alexander forgot that at the worst possible time, and now he’s gone.
