First Batch of NBA All-Star Voting

Shaq's entertainment factor should grant him a lifetime exemption to the ASG.

If the NBA All-Star game voting ended today the starting lineup for both teams would be:

Western Conference All-Stars:

G – Kobe Bryant (Los Angeles Lakers)

G – Tracy McGrady (Houston Rockets)

C – Amare Stoudemire (Phoenix Suns)

F – Carmelo Anthony (Denver Nuggets)

F – Dirk Nowitzki (Dallas Mavericks)

Really? Chris Paul is 4th among guards in voting. 4th! Paul is the best PG in the conference and his skill set is made for All-Star games.

Keep in mind that this is the first batch of votes, and he should bump the inactive Tracy McGrady, but but come on Hornets fans, stuff the ballot boxes, help us out here.

Eastern Conference All-Stars:

G – Dwayne Wade (Miami Heat)

G – Vince Carter (Orlando Magic)

C – Dwight Howard (Orlando Magic)

F – LeBron James (Cleveland LeBrons)

F – Kevin Garnett (Boston Celtics)

Hold on here Eastern Conference. Really…Vince Carter? Is this 2001? Do you think that Vinsanity is going to put his elbow through the rim again if you vote him in? Is he going to dunk over a large Frenchman again? Answer: No to all.

There is a pretty good chance that Carter will fake an ankle injury and hold up play for 13 minutes though. (Vince would fit right in on the futbol pitch.)

My biggest concern is that Cavaliers C Shaquille O’Neal is second in center voting.

Sure, every All-Star game needs Shaq to be there. He is a one-liner waiting to happen and watching a fat man dance is quite humorous. Give Shaq an honorary slot on every All-Star team for the rest of his career just so he can entertain us. Think of him as a hired jester for the NBA.

For the love of god though, please don’t allow Shaq to start this game. He is starting to play how an Eddie Murphy movie character looks. (Her-ka-leez!!!)

If Tracy McGrady, who has been injured all season, and Shaquille O’Neal, who is officially listed by SOGJ at 7’1″ and 472 lbs., are starters for their respective conferences then the NBA must get a new voting system. No question about it.
