Super Bowl Preview

This Sunday is America’s unofficial holiday Super Bowl Sunday. For the better part of a week all we have heard is how good Peyton Manning is(laser rocket arm), how hurt Dwight Freeney’s ankle is, how fast and cheap shot happy Greg Williams defense is, and finally how happy the city of New Orleans is to have the Saints in the Super Bowl. This is all well and good but let’s not forget New Orleans is REALLY good!

In there last two games they have gone against not only two of the best teams in the NFC but Arizona and the Vikings are two of the best team in all the NFL. This is a team that has scored 30 or more points in 13 of their 18 games. That ranks them first in scoring offense in the NFL and last time I checked Indianapolis doesn’t have the 85 Bears or the 2000 Ravens defense. Indy’s defense is built to keep them in the game long enough for Peyton Manning to make plays not to have to continually stop a high powered offense.

The only problem is that the Colts have Peyton Manning. That’s really all you need to know. If they have the ball late, it’s close, and time is on the clock they are going to win the game. Peyton will step up and do what Peyton does. So where does that leave us?

Quite possibly one of the best Super Bowls of all time! Here is my prediction, OFFENSE, OFFENSE, OFFENSE! Reggie Bush will run one back. Austin Collie will catch a bomb. Darren Sharper will return and interception. Points will be put on the board. When it is all said and done, they are going to write a book about how the New Orleans Saints had a dream season and defeated the greatest quarterback of all time in the Super Bowl on drive in the final minute of the game orchestrated by the cities new favorite son Drew Brees. Trailing by 5, 39-34 with 1:24 the Saints will force a punt and Drew Brees will do his thing slicing his way through the Colts defense finally finding Jeremy Shockey for the game winning score. Final score 40-39. Drew Brees Super Bowl MVP.
